Destination

Burnham-on-Sea is a traditional resort famous for its miles of sandy beach and nine-legged wooden lighthouse. Brean Sands and Berrow lie further up the coast with fine beaches, plentiful accommodation options and numerous entertainment venues.

Cheddar Gorge has been a popular destination for hundreds of years, with its dramatic limestone cliffs, magnificent caves and real Cheddar Cheese.

Seven miles of sandy beach stretch from Burnham-on-Sea to Brean Down.
Burnham-on-Sea has car parks, toilets, cafes, amusements, donkey rides, esplanade, pier pavilion, boat slipway and free coach parking. Brean Sands and Berrow have car parks, toilets and cafes.

Entertainment

The Princess in Burnham-on-Sea is used for events and shows. Brean Leisure Park has spectacular rides and a fun pool. Night-time entertainment at venues along the coast.

Shopping

High Street and specialist shops in Burnham-on-Sea and nearby Bridgwater. Cheddar has a good variety of shops. Open-air markets and farmers' markets at many venues in the summer.

Eating Out

A wide variety of restaurants and pubs, many offering locally sourced food. The area is famous for its cider farms and cheese makers where you can taste and buy local produce.

Recreation & Sport

Sea, river and lake fishing, several golf courses, variety of water sports, land yachting, indoor/outdoor swimming, horse riding, caving, climbing and abseiling. Wonderful walking and cycling.

Holiday & Activity Centres

A range of holiday parks and centres in the area offering caravan, chalet and camping breaks.
Rock Sport - Cheddar Caves and Gorge offering caving, climbing and abseiling. For something a bit different Musgrove Willows, near Bridgwater, runs courses in willow sculpture and basketry.
